About

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

I have been writing since I was seven years old and running for almost as long. I am an editor for REI, a contributing editor for Trail Runner magazine, and the author of Beer Hiking Colorado.

My writing has also appeared in Uncommon Path, Outdoors NW, Paste, Outside Online, Red Bull Adventure, the REI Co-op Journal, iRunFar, RootsRated, Gear Institute, Run the Alps, and more. Keep in touch by subscribing here on Tiny Letter.

When I’m not storytelling, I can be found hanging out with my baby girl, running or hiking in the mountains, skate skiing, snowboarding, riding my Swiss Bob sled, doing yoga, spending time with my family, reading books, journaling, cooking, baking, drinking dark beer, or striking up enthusiastic conversation with strangers.
